To swear yes or no? - weekend #161

Swearing, since I was a child I was taught that it was bad to swear by something, because in the Bible it says: "do not swear by the name of God in vain ", which means without necessity, this indicates to me that there are times when it may be necessary to swear.

For example when someone goes to a court they tell him to swear that he will tell the truth and only the truth, that he will declare without falsehood, because according to beliefs if someone swears in vain, in falsehood is like an injury, or can be punished for it, if it is a person with Christian beliefs could be punished by God for lying.

When you are a child you do not understand much about these things, for example I remember that I used to swear for anything, then when I grew up I understood that you should not swear but for something really important and that is very true.

I think that when you swear you make more than a promise, it is like a seal that should not be broken, it is like giving your word and that promise is unbreakable under that oath, some people break oaths and some are false, therefore justice suffers the terrible consequences, but as they say the truth always comes to light at some point.

There is nothing better than telling the truth, I would swear by something that implies honesty, the truth, not by falsehood that liars do, the word tells us that our Yes is Yes and our No is No, it is the most certain thing without ambiguities.

Therefore it is best to keep the word without oaths, it is always good to have a clean testimony of an impeccable person and that your word is only the oath, like the time of my grandparents, where there were no documents but the word of the people were.
