Greetings my dear friends of Hive!
Easter week has passed, many made trips, others went for walks and others like me stayed at home, not for pleasure of course 😄, however I had a great time of rest that I needed because the weekly hustle and bustle with school and daily occupations take us in a hurry, but thank God this Holy time helped me to do some things, including sharing with family and to spend some time remembering years ago, which is needed from time to time.
During Holy Week it is common for people to eat dried fish, at least here in my country Venezuela it is like that, this is a tradition we had at home many years ago and my husband's family too, although it is not written somewhere it is traditionally done.
On Holy Thursday my sister-in-law calls me and invites us to have lunch together, we had more than 3 years that we did not eat with her during Holy Week since she was out of the country, so we all went to taste that delicious lunch that she made for us with much affection.
The first thing we could taste was a delicious salad of beet, carrot, potato, egg and onion, this type of salad has always been a typical dish in Easter at least in my family, and in my husband's family too, my mother always made it and my father loved it, I think he was the one who ate more of this salad, he liked it a lot in fact my sister in law remembers a lot every time she prepares this salad of my dad because when she prepared it he loved to go and eat it.
Also my sister-in-law prepared bread soup, this is a typical Andean dish, since my father-in-law and my mother-in-law are Andean and they love this dish, I don't really like bread soup, but my husband loves it and they could taste a lot of this recipe which my sister-in-law prepared with all love and affection especially to please her father.
She really surprised us all with this great lunch prepared with so much love.
Finally my sister-in-law also made dried shredded fish with rice, which is always one of the favorite dishes during Holy Week, this fish I remember my mother very much because she used to make it during Holy Week, this fish or also called salted fish could not be missed, so it was a great lunch, thanks to my sister-in-law for inviting us and being able to spend a pleasant moment with the family during these days where we remember the living sacrifice that God made for humanity.
While we had lunch we shared happy moments where we remembered our childhood and all that we did in these days of Holy Week in each of our homes, for example we remember that we always played bingo when we were with the family because we had large families and we all played bingo, ludo, trompito, while we spent these Holy days and always bet with money and our chips were beans or corn, are moments and memories that will always last in time, beautiful moments of our childhood and that will always be worth remembering.
