ENGLISH

It may seem like a joke or something untrue, but it isn't.

This photo I present to you today has great meaning for me, because it's of Risto, the first dog I had and whom I loved like my first child.

I always wanted to have two children, but after several tests, consultations, and various analyses, my husband and I were unable to have children. So, we decided that to alleviate this emotional situation, it was necessary to find a pet that could fulfill our need for a child.

The truth is that they were very difficult times, but, despite not being a person, our little Risto came to fill our lives with joy. He took care of us, gave us love, and became a priority in our lives.

However, we decided to leave Cuba.

Several reasons prompted us to do so, and beyond the country's economic situation, there were other personal motivations, dreams to fulfill, and countries to visit that my husband and I wanted to be able to enjoy.

However, it was very hard when we had to travel to Uruguay and separate from Risto.

I confess that it was one of the hardest moments I've ever experienced, and those who have had pets and have gone through a separation or the loss of one will know what I mean.

When we left, we left him with the people we knew would take the best care of him and give him all the love in the world.

Thank you for reading this story about my little Risto.
