English version

Sometimes, the bread we buy doesn’t have the texture we like, either because the recipe didn’t strike the right balance in ingredient proportions or because it’s been sitting for several days and has gone stale. When this happens, we need to give it a new lease on life so we can enjoy a light and tasty breakfast. I should also mention that this recipe can serve as a party appetizer—this is where creativity knows no bounds.

Ingredients:

  • 2 loaves of bread
  • 50 grams of white cheese for grating
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation:

I put the garlic cloves, a little olive oil, and a pinch of salt in the blender and blended them thoroughly.

I sliced the bread into thin strips. Then I spread the mixture from the blender on them—it tasted great, just like an improvised garlic spread.

Next, I set up a griddle with a completely clean surface, placed the bread strips on it, and grated cheese over each one. The idea was to toast them while melting the cheese at the same time. To achieve this, I put a lid on and set the heat to low.

Six minutes later, they were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The bread had transformed completely, making for a striking appetizer that would go well with any meal.
