English version
I love visiting my daughter @ramisey and little Baby Bee. Every weekend, I stay at their house to enjoy a more intimate family experience. I won't be moving in for much longer 馃槀. So I took the opportunity to cook with her and have her help me take the photos. Today we prepared some delicious breaded herring layers with roasted arepas, a perfect combination that became our lunch.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kilo of herring fillets
- 250 grams of corn flour
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- Butter
- 2 cups of water
Preparation:
To speed up the process, we bought herring fillets at the market, so we didn't have to prepare the fish ourselves.
I washed the herring fillets and placed them on a plate to drain. Then I sprinkled salt on them, one by one. I put cornflour on another plate and coated the pieces of fish in it. This would ensure a crispy texture.
I heated a frying pan with enough oil to start frying, five minutes on each side so that they would be golden brown. We repeated this process five times (my daughter helped me), so that there would be enough space in the pan for them to cook properly.
While we were doing this, I got everything ready to make the arepas. I put two cups of water in a bowl, added half a tablespoon of salt, and gradually added the corn flour. I started kneading to form my arepas. I usually wet my hands to make them easier to shape.
I set up the budare, oiled the surface, and formed three arepas, which were ready in twenty minutes. All that was missing was a little butter.
The next step was to serve and enjoy this delicious meal with my family.

Ingredientes:
- 1/2 kilo de capas de arenques
- 250 gramos de harina de ma铆z
- Sal al gusto
- Aceite
- Mantequilla
- 2 tazas de agua
Preparaci贸n:
