English version

Carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers, and onions were the accompaniments to five pieces of chicken; I decided to make a special stew because of the flavors of these ingredients. I think they complement each other very well, and I wasn’t wrong—the flavor the chicken took on met my expectations and more, because the carrots had a hint of sweetness that paired perfectly with the tomatoes.

Ingredients:

  • 5 chicken pieces
  • 1 carrot
  • 6 bell peppers
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil

Preparation:

I washed the herbs and the carrot. I removed the seeds from the chili peppers and the tomato, then cut them into small pieces. Next, I peeled the onion and diced it. Shortly after, it was the carrot’s turn; I peeled it and chopped it into pieces.

I put two tablespoons of oil in a pot and added the vegetables to sauté, stirring with a fork for five minutes, until the onion turned translucent. Then I added the carrot and tomato, and sprinkled in a pinch of salt.

I then added the chicken, but first I rinsed it and stirred to blend the flavors. I added half a cup of water, put on a lid, and waited for the steam to help with the cooking.

What I liked most about this recipe was how quick it was to make—the chicken was ready in twenty minutes. I served it over a bed of rice, and it made for a really tasty lunch. My taste buds are delighted with this combination of flavors—so much so that I’d make this recipe again in a heartbeat, but next time I’d serve it with pasta.
