Hola, amigos, ¿cómo están? Espero que la estén pasando muy bien. Sean bienvenidos a mi blog yelimarin@yelimarin.

Hi, friends, how are you? I hope you’re having a great time. Welcome to my blog, yelimarin@yelimarin. Continuing with the story of the changes we had to make at home after the moisture issue, today I’m bringing you the second part of this story time: the adventure—complete with its fair share of drama and stress—of buying a new air conditioner.

As I mentioned in my previous post, even though we’d already fixed the leak, I still needed to install a suitable AC unit in Diego’s room. The one upstairs was 12,000 BTU—too powerful for such a small space—and to prevent future condensation issues, the ideal solution was to find a 5,000 BTU unit like the ones in the other rooms.

The small catch was that buying an air conditioner wasn’t part of the plan, so I didn’t have the cash on hand. Luckily, I’ve been using financial tools that are a lifesaver: an app called Krece, which offers loans based on your credit score (I had $70 available), and the Cashea app. By combining both—and even though I had to go a little into debt—I managed to make ends meet.

As someone who loves convenience but sometimes ends up making life more complicated, I decided to do everything online: pay online and have my husband pick up the equipment. I went to Cashea, searched the Ivoo stores, thought the price was great, and made the purchase. The platform asked if I wanted home delivery or in-store pickup; since the room was already set up and I wanted to get it done quickly, I chose in-store pickup.

I paid the deposit and immediately received a message: “Your equipment is now available for in-store pickup.” I was so happy—I went to tell my husband… but when I took a closer look at the details, I almost had a heart attack! The system had assigned me a pickup at Ivoo Naguanagua, in Carabobo state. I live in Maturín, on the other side of the country!

When I contacted Ivoo’s customer service, the initial response was negative: they told me it was impossible to make a change because the in-store pickup had already been processed and I had to go pick it up in Valencia. Imagine my frustration! If I had to pay for transportation to go to another state, the cost would completely ruin the purchase.

¡Me pareció súper injusto!

That day was one of total frustration. I sent emails, messaged them on Instagram, and called numbers that never answered. For their part, the folks at Cachea clarified that they were only responsible for financing and installments, but that the payment had gone directly to the store, so the solution depended on Ivo.

The next day, when I woke up, I had a WhatsApp message from Tiendas Ivoo Venezuela responding to an email I’d sent. I saw a light at the end of the tunnel! They explained that the app was experiencing a widespread glitch where anyone who selected “in-store pickup” was automatically routed to Naguanagua, which is why they were reaching out to correct the address.

However, the saga didn’t end there. Almost at the same time, someone from the Ivoo Naguanagua branch messaged me saying that free shipping had been suspended and that they would have to charge me between $12 and $13 for shipping to bring it to Maturín. I thought that was totally unfair! Why did I have to pay for shipping if the city assignment error had been caused by their own platform?

Luckily, since the team at Ivoo Venezuela was already helping me and had arranged the change, I quickly went with my husband and son to the branch here. When I arrived, they already had my online purchase paperwork ready; I just signed it, asked them to look for the item, and felt a huge sense of relief. I’d finally resolved the issue! (The people in Valencia were even still messaging me, asking if I was going to pay the $13 shipping fee, to which I politely replied that I’d already taken care of everything on my own.)

Despite the back-and-forth, the scares, and the last-minute rush, I closed the case happily. I’m a huge fan of these apps that let us buy products in manageable installments, since many stores don’t accept credit cards and our credit limits are very low. Even though I’m still in debt, I’m happy with the purchase because every day we strive to move forward and improve our quality of life.

It was all very last-minute and out of the ordinary, but I always find the silver lining in every situation. That’s all for now. Thank you for reading, for joining me on this journey, and for being part of these experiences we housewives share.
See you next time.
