Hello everyone! Today I'm going to share another Inktober drawing that I made today.

The prompt for Inktober Day 12 is 'Toss'

When I saw the word 'Toss', the only thing that came to my mind was the 'Toss a coin to your Witcher' song from The Witcher series. It was a trending song and I think Jeskier sang it well too. Unlike many of the game fans, I actually really liked the series and I'm awaiting the next season to be out. I have a thing for magical and supernatural plots so that kept my interest.

I did consider drawing a coin being tossed like the song, but I changed my mind because I wanted something more interesting to be a part of my sketchbook. So I thought of other ideas and crossed them off for various reasons why I don't want to draw them until I found the remaining one which is what I ended up drawing. I chose to draw a scene of tossing some vegetables while they're being cooked in a pan. I love to cook and I always filmed myself cooking secretly when I was younger. So I tried to recreate that on paper.

The Process

I started the drawing with the pan first. It would give me the space to create the rest of the drawing. So here's the basic outline of my large pan. It's true by the way. I do have a very large and heavy pan. So I never toss anything while cooking in it because I can't. My little hand might pull a muscle because it's extremely heavy.

Then, I added some vegetables to the pan. I was still trying to figure out how many types I want to draw and how far apart I'll draw them.

I proceeded to draw more of them. I have included tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, carrots, capsicum and broccoli. Everything sliced and being tossed into the air.

When I was done with the veggies, I added some lines and inked almost the entire pan. It is a black pan so I tried to get the part right. I also added some details to the handle. Now, I could have left it here. But I wanted to take it to the next level.

I like my artworks to have a pop of colour generally. So I used some of my highlighters to do that. I was just testing the waters first with the light colours which are yellow and orange for the capsicum and carrots respectively.

I liked it so I added more colours for the other vegetables too. Can you spot the difference between this drawing in comparison to the previous one? I actually used a white pen to turn an onion slice into a capsicum because I felt like there was too little yellow in the drawing. The white pen helped me to somehow erase some of the lines and then I drew over that to turn it into capsicum.

I coloured it but I also thought I could use one more capsicum on the pan so I coloured an onion yellow. I think it is acceptable improvise on our drawings if we are not satisfied with them. The most important thing is to have fun making them.

I also added one more onion ring on top so everything looks balanced without any colours dominating. I was cracking my head on what to colour the mushrooms as they're supposed to be very light. So I used a highlighter from a different set with more muted shades. This is the final outcome of me playing with my ink and colours. I definitely enjoyed drawing this.

No Bitmoji with veggies in pan so I picked this one. It's still a toss. Thank you for dropping by and I hope that you have a wonderful day ahead!
