Translation from Bengali to Englishl:
We Do Not Want War
Tell us, oh wise ones, we do not want war; why is the world's conscience silent? We do not wish to witness the horrific face of indiscriminate mass slaughter.Remove those weapons and cannons; the peace-lovers are calling out,Let the terror of gunpowder and bombs be banished from this world.
We want no more destruction from such hellish aggression,Nor the pitiful cries from the throats of the homeless and the starving. There is no food, water, or relief in the refugee camps,Conscious hearts are weeping in the movement to drive away war.
People are lost and bewildered amidst the continuous bullets and bombs,Tears flow from the war-wounded, suffering from thirst and hunger. The rows of corpses are growing under the naked claws of cruelty,The sky and air grow heavy with the screams of innocent children.
Stop the war, oh angry and misguided souls! What cruelty is this!Forget all arrogance, power, and divisions; save humanity.Awake, oh conscience of the world! Drive away the warmongers,Killing fellow human beings is the most despicable act for humanity.
