It rained several times during the night so I was glad to have built a shelter. In the morning I woke up a few hours after sunrise because the raindrops kept drumming on the tarp. I packed up and put my breakfast on hold again so I wouldn't be eaten alive by hungry mosquitoes. And I set out on the road towards Gunzehausen, where I originally wanted to go the day before. Once again, an obstacle in the form of a construction stood in my way. This time it was about repairing the railway crossing, so I had to illegally cross the tracks few hundred meters further.

A few days ago with my mother, my aunt and uncle and my cousin we decided to travel for about 45 minutes from our homes to the village of Oneta (Villayon-Asturias) to make a very simple and little known mountain route to the Cascadas de Oneta. The beginning of the route is very simple, as we will start walking from the village of Oneta along flat paths near pastures and cornfields. Guided by the sound of the water falling from the waterfall we continue our way, and we enter a forest of beech, oak, ash, chestnut and other characteristic trees of the area with a beautiful green color due to the abundant rains that we have in Asturias almost all the year round.

This past weekend was pretty nice weather here in Scotland. Blue skies with white cotton clouds interspersed with the odd grey cloud.A perfect time to go for a walk in the park. So let's see what we found! Our starting point is the aptly named Rose Garden. The rose garden is on the way to the boat pond, and yes full of bonnie wee roses. They cut back the roses from a couple of years ago so now they seem mostly to be low level roses and not much taller and bushier like they used to be.
