Here are a few scenes from a large rose garden walk on this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
We visited Rockford Illinois for a Japanese garden but realized there was a rose garden just a mile away as well.
The rose garden is right outside of a small conservatory full of jungle plants.
This is located right next to the Rock River and they divert quite a bit of the river's water to various landscaped waterfalls. This duck had fun letting the water flow under him while he slept.
We barely got there before they closed so the sun setting created some interesting backlighting to the plants.
They also have some decent koi ponds surrounding the area. They are quite tame and you can feed them.
The whole reason we went to Rockford was to try and find some changing tree colors for fall. Only the maples were changed so this is about all the fall color I got lol.
Thankfully the roses were in peak condition.
My throat started to itch after smelling all of them. Too much pollen in the nasal passages lol.
I wish I would have recorded all their strange names. This one has a name something like Strike it Rich.
I think this rose garden might have been the largest one we've been to in Illinois.
A bit of pink backlighting. If you ever want to visit I would recommend coming here in October and heading to the Sinnissippi Rose Garden. Its free except for entering the indoor conservatory.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
