After eight years of being without a partner, Andy finally found a girlfriend. It was really a thing of joy and so his friends suggested a little celebration at a fancy place. For some reason, it has been raining incessantly in my country and the worst part is that the rain comes without any form of announcement.

Andy, his new girlfriend and five of his friends set out for the celebration. Five of the friends lived close to each other and so they all opted to get a vehicle together while the other two;Jack and Jones, would come from their different houses. So in total, there were seven.

On the fixed day, the five friends hired a tricycle for the journey. It's worthy to note that regular tricycles have provision for only four passengers and so the smallest friend was being lapped;this was the first sign of doom.

Twenty-five minutes into a forty minute drive, it started raining cats and dogs. In my country, when there's a heavy downpour, the roads are instantly flooded. The tricycle driver didn't pay heed to this as he kept trudging ahead. The passengers on the other hand wanted to return home but they called Jack and Jones who were flying solo and they both said that they were on the road too. At this point, the only direction was forward.

The flood was big enough to swallow cars, talk less of a tricycle and so in a bid to avoid the flood, the driver had to re-route. On this new route, the tricycle broke down due to reasons known to the driver. Under the rain, the driver serviced the tricycle and it was ready to go again. Five minutes later, the tricycle broke down again. This repeated itself six times and by the sixth time the driver was totally fed up. He left all the passengers in his vehicle and was trying to flag down a vehicle to take him home. He tried and his efforts were futile and so he accepted his fate, which was with the passengers.

His passengers didn't want to get drenched in any way so they weren't of help to the driver

With the faulty tricycle, the driver kept trudging yet, the end still felt very far as almost all the roads were flooded. After turning around for what felt like an eternity, the driver finally arrived at the destination– an hour and thirty minutes later. Just like clock work, as the driver arrived, the rain ceased.

Jack

Jack happened to be the luckiest of them all. As it started raining, he was inside a commercial bus with other passengers. When he arrived at his location, no passenger wanted to alight from the vehicle. The driver who knew the reason behind this quietly brought out his mobile device, played a movie and kept the mobile device in a position where everyone could see clearly. They stayed this way till the rain subsided.

Jones

Jones, who didn't really know his way around, heard a wrong direction. Under the rain, he went to the wrong location and when he called Tom to ask where they were, Tom told him that they were many kilometres away from him. Fraustrating.

Jones was with an umbrella but he is 6 '4 and counting and so the umbrella was very totally useless as it covered only his head. After getting the news, he started another journey to the original location and this time, he reached.

Imagine a 6 '4 who is totally soaked from head to toe walking into a place with no Iota of smile on his face, yes, that was Jones' grand entry.

This was how a forty minutes journey or less turned out to be an hour and thirty minutes. When everyone arrived, it was already too late and so celebration was just for an hour before they all decided to go back home. This was already around 9pm. It was indeed an experience one wouldn't forget in a hurry.
