Last week I ordered $2000 in $2 bills so I could look through them for errors or special serial numbers, and today I picked them up. The clerk went to the back safe to pick up my order and when she returned to the counter she had ten packs of uncirculated bills and laid them in front of me. I always panic when they receive new bills because they always want to run them through the bill counter before handing them over to me. As she recounted the stacks I asked her if she had a box she could put them in and luckily she did. As she was putting the currency in the the box, I noticed a star note on one of the stacks, I started to get excited. I rushed out to my car and looked for the star note stack, and to my surprise all 100 bills were star notes in sequential order. This was the first time ever that I received an uncirculated strap of star notes. For you Freewriters that don't know what a star note is, it's a replacement note for a bill that was damaged during printing. When a sheet of bills is damaged, to keep the accounting correct, the damaged sheet is destroyed and a new sheet is printed with the same numbers and a star at the end of the number sequence. I'm not sure how much this strap will bring, but it will definitely be more than $200. Since it's my first strapped star note bundle, I'm going to hold on to it for a while. 馃
