I asked a waitress, 'Don't you guys have any dipping sauce?'
She looked at me like, 'What the heck are you talking about?'
I have heard of this Shabu brand, Red Sun for quite sometimes. It gets quite famous these past years and one of the reasons (I guess) because the owner is one of Thailand superstars, quite a pretty one yes. Finally after years of years of just hearing about it, we decided to just go for it one night.
It's all you can eat. 2 options either 339 or 599. We went with the 339 all pork set. Other than pork slides, we can also order varieties of fish balls and meat balls and other side dishes like baked cheese corn, sesame cabbage, or their famous seaweed fried rice.
Their seaweed fried rice was quite interesting. I didn't expect it to taste a little sweet and a little greasy like that. Baked cheese corn on the other hand was real yummy so 2 or so of that easy! All the meat is real good quality and I would prefer that to all the fish balls and meat balls. Protein > Carbohydrate you know :)
Their unique selling point is their soup! It's a Korean soup base that they claim it gets better every time you put some more stuff or every dip which makes sense with all the soup really! Though, if I have to be honest with you here, I love it more with a few kinds of dipping sauce so I can at least clean my pallet with the different kinds of sauces.
It's pretty good I guess but I don't think it's worth revisiting that much. I would go for the one with the same price range with more variety of food.
