The year began hot and humid with some wild storms in Sydney. Wanting to escape the heat and head down somewhere slightly cooler, we decided that Canberra was the place to be for the day. Also because we had planned to see the National Gallery of Australia (as per previous post).

While in Canberra, we wanted to take our friends to this Thai restaurant in the heart of Canberra as our last visit to this restaurant left a really good impression. Not only did we find that the food was delicious, the interior was clean and well decorated and the staff were really friendly. Friendly staff is always a plus!

Kinn Thai is busy as usual and probably because it was the weekend as well when we visited. We did not make a reservation and therefore had to wait in the queue for about 15-20 minutes. Luckily for us, we weren't that hungry yet.

After being seated, we ordered some dishes to share and drinks as well from their menu which was filled with variety. Despite being very busy, our drinks and meals came out fairly quickly to fill our hungry bellies.

altDuck curry

altCrispy pork belly with Chinese kale

altThai beef salad

altSoft shell crab with chilli jam sauce

altTom yum soup

altThai milk tea

altPinepple, mint, lychee

altPassion fruit mojito

altYakult pipo jelly

For the five dishes and four drinks ordered, it came to a total of AUD$166. Not going to lie. This place is fairly up-priced compared to a lot of Thai restaurants back in Sydney however, for the quality served and for the service, it is worth every single penny.
