Summary:
This is a prequel to Operation Austin. Sarah Travers is an abused young girl who escapes into her schooling as a way to avoid her father's wrath. She is an exceptional student and eventually is taken by her two brothers to live with them in Sacramento. While in college, her brothers move to Seattle to work on the tunnel project and Sarah takes in two roomies, who happen to be escorts. Sarah joins them one weekend for a 'date' with a billionaire and his friends, and she discovers that for a weekend playing with the wealthy, she can earn more money than she could at her other job in a month. She begins escorting and soon takes advantage of the opportunity to form an elite escort service. Through some of her connections, she gets involved in the blockchain industry and founds one of the leading dapps. One summer evening as she was visiting some of 'her girls' who were working the area of North Aurora Avenue in Seattle, she meets Gary Booker and their romance begins. It is a troubled affair, what with her business activities and his desire to find a mate. It is in this story that we learn how Gary was traumatized by witnessing the butchering of several children for their body parts.
This is the genesis of his alter ego, who Paige calls El Veneno, the one who brings venom. The end of the story explains how John is involved in a rescue mission, orchestrated by Sarah on behalf of a business associate and former client. It is during that rescue effort that Paige Steward is found and sent to Gary. This story closely follows several people I've known personally or through other friends.
