My vital space. Initiative #11/The sea as my vital space. [ES/EN]
Hello #greenzone community, this is my entry in the initiative of my friend @iriswrite, who invites us to talk about our vital space. Personally, I don’t think I have only one vital space, there are many vital things throughout life. I could have talked about my house as my vital space, also my mother’s house where I grew up and became an adult, the town where I was raised, the countryside, reading my friend’s post I felt identified with every word, I was born in the countryside and I was always linked to it. But I have decided to talk to you about the sea as my vital space.
When we reflect on a topic we discover things we do without thinking much, a vital space, that place that gives me peace, that charges my energy like a cell phone connected to the power and gives meaning to things, inevitably my mind travels to the sea. It is not only because of its size, an immense mass of water that stretches as far as the eye can see, but also an environment full of life, memories and meanings that accompany me at every stage of the journey.
In the sea there is freedom. It is enough to contemplate its open horizon to feel that barriers dissolve and that there is always the possibility to go further. The feeling that comes from contemplating infinity invites me to dream, to think about projects and goals and to believe that nothing is impossible if one has the determination to move forward.
In it I also find the connection with inner calm. Listening to the ebb and flow of the waves is, for me, a kind of natural meditation. That sound helps me organize my thoughts, find clarity in moments of confusion and feel in harmony with the world. The sea breeze, with its freshness and salinity, has a power capable of renewing my energies and establishing balance.
But the sea is not only tranquility. It also represents strength and mystery. It reminds us that nature has its untamed character, that not everything is under our control, and that we must learn to respect its cycles and its times. That duality between calm and bravery is inspiring, it teaches me that, just like the sea, life can change in an instant and we must be prepared to face high and low tides.
In addition, I keep many family memories of the sea. I have shared endearing moments on its shores, from deep conversations with loved ones to childhood games that I still keep in my memory. Since the birth of my daughter, I always took her to the sea, she also has a connection with it, really it didn’t take much, with just a calm sea and a bit of sand we enjoyed unforgettable moments. Each visit becomes an encounter with my personal history, but also with the stories of those who enjoy and respect it. I am fortunate that for two years I have lived just a few meters from the sea and I can enjoy it daily.
The sea, ultimately, is my vital space because it gives me a unique mix of emotions, freedom, serenity, respect and hope. It is a place where I can be myself, where it doesn’t matter who you are or how much you have where time seems to stand still and where I understand that I am part of something much bigger. The sunrise is wonderful, but the sunsets on its waters are too.
I would like to invite to this initiative my daughter @lianny and
