Relato: Mi otro yo. Parte II / Story: My other self. Part II
Aquí puedes ver la parte I .
Here you can see part I. . I have to tell you, dear reader, that I have made significant progress in identifying my "Second Self". This fills me with great satisfaction, although I cannot celebrate completely because I still have a lot to discover. I know he doesn't like to take a bath, and that, added to his grumpiness, causes many problems every day, both to myself and to others. But I have to be strong and force him to get out of bed, get ready and go to work. One of the biggest problems with having an "I" and a "Second I" is the embarrassment it causes me, especially when it is "I"'s turn to go out on the street and people complain about his behavior in previous days. It is not very positive to tell him that it was not him that day, because let's see, how many of you, in this situation, would believe that he is actually telling the truth? Sometimes the only solution is to apologize and point out that it was a very bad day and that you are totally sorry for his behavior. That usually calms the waters and reassures the offended party. It's a good thing that the complaint is not made to my "Second Self", because apart from being grumpy, he's also very argumentative. And he cares little for the feelings of others. I must confess that "Me" behaves in a very similar way, but only when he is very hungry. After eating, he goes back to his natural state, kind, cheerful and calm. Oh, if only my "Second Me" was like that, that he would only get annoyed at times. You know what? Very seldom have I seen him smile. He seems to carry such great sorrow that nothing motivates him, nothing and no one. Not even the mischievous smile Marina gives him every day when he arrives at work. When it's "Me" I just smile and melt, but when it's my "Second Me", he ignores her completely, even when she gets so close that I can smell her beautiful perfume. At that moment I'd like to be able to change my outfit from "Second Me" to "Me". You do understand, don't you? But despite those bad moments, the truth is that the situation has improved over time between my "I's". Now, knowing when I'm one or the other, I've been able to handle situations that were really complicated before a little better. That makes me feel a little better. And that's where I'm getting better. But, too bad, there's never a shortage of buts. After a while, I managed to discover that there is a serious problem in this whole situation. Well, not as serious, at least not as I thought at first. It turns out that there are days when my "I's", make peace, don't fight during the night and go out on the street together, so to speak. That's good because I get to be nice and fun, which I really like, but at the same time, it leads me to react impulsively at other times. A mix of personalities in one day. It will surely be difficult, but I am convinced that sooner rather than later, I will manage to understand this "I", which I have decided to call my "Third Self".
