Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday. On today's creative Sunday I'll be preparing akara and pap for my family as breakfast. I have always loved akara but I don't know how to fry it, all the while I have been frying it, it always came out looking like pancake.
So before I fried today's own, I asked my friends @zitalove and
@alexandria12 what I always do wrong. I explained for them how I make it and they told me how to make adjustments to avoid it coming out like pancake.
I think the combination of this food is balanced in its own way, the beans is protein and it contains fibre, mineral and vitamin.
While the pap (also known as ogi in yoruba language and akamu in igbo language) is made from corn which is a carbohydrate. The pap contains potassium and iron which are good for the body.
Below are the ingredients I used:
Beans
Pepper
Onions
Salt
Oil for frying
- PROCEDURE
I started by grinding my beans, then added pepper, onions and salt to taste.
Then I heated my pan and added oil. I allowed the oil to heat.
Then I used spoon to scoop my blended beans little by little into the heated oil.
I kept flipping from side to side till it turned golden brown, then I removed from oil. And repeated the process till I was done.
To prepare my pap, I simply melted the pap to avoid lumps, boiled water and poured it into the pap, then stirred and added sugar then served.
