I love to make delicious dishes on the barbeque. Pulled Porc, spare ribs ... all tasty dishes. Now I had seen a recipe on a facebook page, these were Moink Balls. I had to laugh about the name, Moink ... what does that mean?
It is actually quite funny, it comes from the combination of the meat used. The minced meat is ground beef, and a cow says Moooo, the bacon that is rolled around it is from a pig, and a pig says Oink Oink, so it became Moink Ball :)
First of all you put the ingredients for the minced meat in a bowl.
Then add the minced meat and mix it all together.
After that you role the balls at aprox 30 grams each.
Then on the outside of the whole ball you put some of your favorite rub. I used a basic BBQ rub.
Rol the bacon around the balls and stick a wooden skewer trough to hold the bacon in place.
Put them on the BBQ with a temperature of about 120 degrees celcius until the center of the balls reach a temperature of about 60 degrees celsius.
After that glace them with a good BBQ sauce and put them back in the Que. The BBQ sauce gets a bit thick, and then they are ready.
Great to have as a snack or a side dish during a great BBQ.
Bon appetit :)
Take care,
Peter
