That day I was really nervous, I had been talking on the phone for a month or more with a girl of whom I had not seen a single picture, every night we had long and very pleasant conversations. I don't remember exactly why we postponed our meeting so much.

That was a few years ago, there was no WhatsApp, no Telegram, no Blackberry pin. In those days I was chatting on a dating site because I had never gone out with a girl and I wanted to do it.

A man pretended to be a woman, via online, and after a while of conversation we exchanged our phone numbers. After a while, I received the call and was surprised to hear that male voice, and I immediately let the person know that I was not interested, however, a very nice and polite man apologized and told me that he was looking for a girlfriend for a very beautiful friend.

I saw no problem and agreed to let the girl call me. I let her know right away that I wasn't interested in threesomes or anything like that and she said she wasn't either, we hit it off over the phone and she called me every night.

I remember asking her to exchange some pictures via e-mail and she told me she wasn't interested in the physical and other excuses that even though I didn't agree, I didn't insist.

One day he started describing himself physically:

"I am white"
"I am brunette"
"I have straight hair"
"I have curly hair"
"I am tall"
"I am short" "
"I only like to drink Whisky" (an expensive drink in Venezuela).
"As for alcoholic beverages, I drink only beer" (it was one of the cheapest liquors before in my country).

Ohh, no, I confess I started to feel insecure, I felt too ugly for her and I hadn't even seen her in a picture.

The night before our meeting she started asking me how I wanted her to dress and I just told her how she normally dresses in her day to day life, for a casual outing, then she told me she had gone to the hairdresser and had also fixed her outfit, which included a black coat. My nerves were getting more and more stressed.

I told her that I had to go to the university that day and I would dress as I did for that occasion, a regular jean and a flannel. We arranged to meet at a shopping mall for coffee, to see each other's faces and talk.

I arrived before she did, which gave me a chance to relax while I browsed the stores. A few minutes later I received her call and she told me she was already at the place, specifying the table at which she was sitting. My heart raced, my legs began to tremble, I started sweating, I was really nervous, I was afraid she wouldn't like me.

When I was near the place where she told me she was, I called her to confirm that it was her, while from a distance I saw her taking her cell phone, I could recognize her. I won't say why but when I saw her my confidence soared to the clouds, I don't want to sound conceited or superficial, I just tell what happened and what I felt at that time.

I was about to leave without even approaching, make an excuse, but it didn't seem fair, I was never a bad girl but sometimes I was very impulsive.

I approached, we greeted each other, chatted for a couple of hours, ate an ice cream.... I didn't feel any kind of attraction, I really stayed out of politeness but inside I just wanted to run away. She was very suggestive with her body language.

As God is good, the date came to an end, I went to college, continued with my normal day and in the evening, without anesthesia, she threw a couple of questions at me, via SMS:

1 - How many men have you been with?
2 - Do you want to be my girlfriend?

Likewise, I answered without anesthesia:

1- I don't go around counting on my fingers the people I'm with.
2- We've barely seen each other for a couple of hours, I don't think it's a good idea to be girlfriends.

After that, conversations were sporadic, until we stopped communicating. A few months later I saw her in a discotheque, she was with a girl and I was with some friends, she was totally changed, her long hair was cut and dyed yellow, it was like Bart Simpson's and her way of dressing was much more masculine. We greeted each other and she told me that she had lost my number.

End of this story...

But it wasn't my only blind date, I had some more, I don't want to bore anyone but maybe some of you would like to know what happened in the following ones, I think it's interesting. I'll tell you briefly:

Today we chat, today I see you.....

I remember one of my blind dates, a girl and I chatted through a page, we exchanged numbers and spent a good time writing to each other, she told me that whenever I wanted we could meet and I told her that same day I would go to a famous shopping mall to buy a sweater.

In this case, we didn't see each other before or through photos, it was quite a few years ago, there was no protocol at all and everything was so fast that we didn't even describe each other physically.

We arrived at the place, we said how we were dressed, we saw each other and we hit it off very well, we ate an ice cream and talked for a couple of hours. Then everyone went home.

I thought the girl was nice but she didn't inspire me anything else, for me it was just a meeting. Then I went out with some friends and she called me on the phone, it was very unexpected because I didn't think there was feeling for something more. After that she called me every night and every call I started to feel really attracted to her.

A few weeks later, we met again, it was magical and I wanted to see her every moment. She had experience with girls and I had never had any. She was my first girlfriend and I was enraptured by her.

We had a few perfect weeks, then I found out that she had her partner that she lived with and other girlfriends, it was hard and difficult to assimilate. It took me some time to get away from her but I finally did it.

End of this story...

I don't like you, you don't like me, but we are going to be friends.

It also happened to me with another girl that we saw each other only because of the minimal photo that was seen in her Messenger profile, whoever understands what I'm talking about, maybe it's from my time, but it's not from years that I want to talk about.

We saw each other, she with her short hair, me with my brown skin, through our pictures we didn't feel any attraction. We only chatted one day and exchanged phone numbers, a week passed and neither of us wrote.

One Friday, after work, I received an SMS from her and she invited me to lunch, she told me that she was new in town and had no friends, she just wanted to distract herself for a while and did not want anything else. I agreed to the meeting because I really find it hard to make friends and it seemed like a good idea.

We went to Mc Donalds, we talked, and the crush was so intense that it was not necessary to say it, we just felt it.

We had an intense relationship and came to love each other very much, with ups and downs like any couple.

Later, when we had confidence, she confessed to me that when she saw my picture she did not like me because she did not like brunettes and I told her that I did not like her picture either because at that time I was not attracted to girls with short hair, however, the day we met for the first time was so magical that our preferences were null and void.

Even, sometimes, we still talk, of course we see each other with different eyes, of friendship rather, she is in Brazil with her current partner and I, here, in my beloved Venezuela.

End of this story...

It's been a long time since I've been on a blind date, although these days it's hard for that to happen because of the rise of technology, although no matter how much we see someone through photos or even videos, it will never, ever be the same as seeing that person face to face and feeling their energy, ❝without filters or edits❞, although that doesn't guarantee anything either.

On a blind date, anything can happen.
