"¡No te preocupes, descansa!"
No quería buscar nada nuevo. Me apetecía estar tranquila.
Tampoco quería evitar a nadie.
No me duró mucho.

Between what happens and what I don't say #42
The Wonderful Plan of Staying Home
Hello @holos-lotus community, with this post I continue the series. I don't always have something important to say.
Most days pass without memorable scenes, without sentences worth underlining, and without clear conclusions. Even so, something remains. Not as a lesson or a revelation, but as a small part of everyday life.
That is where the idea for this series comes from: Between what happens and what I don't say.
It is not an attempt to explain myself or find meaning in everything. It is a way of looking at what usually stays outside the conversation: small gestures, everyday habits, and moments that nobody announces but that are still there.
I write from everyday life, from what I can observe. It doesn't need to be profound to be real. I simply want to record a few scenes, like someone noting the weather without judging it.
So there will be no answers and no promises. Only small scenes, ordinary days, and a voice that observes.

The message arrived at seven in the evening.
"Hey, I'm completely exhausted. Can we leave it for next week?"
I read it and replied immediately.
"Don't worry, get some rest!"
I put my phone down on the table and stared at it for a few seconds. The plans were canceled.
And I was happy.
All afternoon I had been thinking about going out. It wasn't a special occasion. I had made plans with someone to meet, talk for a while, and have something to drink. A normal plan that had seemed like a good idea when I agreed to it.
But as the day went on, I started feeling a little lazy about it. I thought about taking a shower, choosing what to wear, fixing my hair, finding my keys, going out, and then coming back home. It wasn't anything terrible. I probably would have had a good time.
But at that moment, I would rather stay home.
When the message arrived, all of that disappeared at once.
I went to the bedroom and changed clothes. I put on something comfortable, the kind of clothes I would never choose to wear outside but that feel perfect at home. Then I turned off the lights and left only a small lamp on.
The house felt different.
I didn't have to watch the time anymore or think about when I had to leave. I made something simple to eat and put on a movie I'd already seen. I didn't want to look for anything new. I just wanted a quiet evening.
At some point I checked my phone again.
"Get some rest."
"Thanks, you too."
That was all.
For the other person, it was probably just canceling plans because they were tired. For me, it was much better news than I was willing to admit.
I don't always say when I don't feel like going out. Sometimes I've already said yes and don't want to disappoint anyone. Other times I know I'll probably enjoy myself once I'm out. And there are days when I simply prefer to stay home without having any special reason for it.
That night I wasn't sad or angry. I wasn't avoiding anyone either. I just wanted to be there, in comfortable clothes, without having to go anywhere.
I thought I should probably feel a little guilty about being so happy that the plans were canceled.
The feeling didn't last long.
Outside, people were still going about their plans while I sat on the sofa watching a movie I already knew. It seemed like a perfectly good evening, even if it wasn't the one I had imagined a few hours earlier.
Tomorrow I would probably feel like going out again and seeing people. But that night I didn't need anything else.
The message had started with "I'm completely exhausted" and, without the other person knowing it, had turned out to be the best news I could have received at seven in the evening.
I didn't tell them. I just wished them a good rest.
Then I got more comfortable on the sofa and kept watching the movie.
With this, the forty-second chapter comes to an end and I say goodbye. Tell me in the comments what you thought, and if you would like to support it, it will be greatly appreciated.
