Have you ever heard a word spoken directly to you that you don't know the meaning of, you ask what it means, and from then on realize that a lot of people around you uses that word consistently? The typical "I learned this and now I've heard about it 8 times this week"? thing..
I've been wondering how it translates to the way we understand life and our relationships with others.
Does it play a role in our decisions? Are we able to see all the options out there? Or do we just pick from the few options our limited experiences have opened our eyes to?
I find that the more I let go of the need to prove that I know everything and open myself to new perspectives and ideas, the easier it is to understand other people's behaviors and less frustration exists in my own experience of life. Because I am aware of this I just keep wondering how many things I'm missing out on, by not having been exposed to an idea, a philosophy, a way of life.
Having lived in 4 different countries, I also see how we tend to predispose ourselves towards people. That need to be better, to put a label on a foreign habit. I want to fully let go of that. I want to be always willing to be curious and see life through other people's perspectives. That makes my life so rich.
Thank you everyone who gives me that opportunity. <3
