Well it was z great day on the road helping out another hound rescued from euthanasia in a shelter and on his way to a new family in California.
Not only did I have the pleasure of Jethro's company but I had a great walk/hike up among the tall pines in Flagstaff afterwards.
Poor Lulu didn't get her morning walk as I was on the road by 6 AM. The weather was cooler st the 7000+ foot elevation in Flagstaff do it was a much better (but still quite warm) 80s ad opposed to the high 90s back home.
I went up the same trail that I usually go on with Lulu up in Flagstaff (Mars Hill loop) but today I could continue onwards and upwards at the point we would normally turn around.
From there is was a hard climb up on towards the top of Mars Hill for another mile or so before I began my descent loop back down to that spot along a nice (mostly single track) trail. Several over hikers and runners were enjoying the beautiful Saturday afternoon on the mess as well.
Of course single track trails are often rocky and these trails were no different and I managed to stub my toes several times but fortunately didn't do s face plant on the rocks - guess that's the problem with enjoying looking at the scenery and NOT watching my feet 😀.
I'm tired now but it was a pretty good effort considering the elevation and climbing over the miles.
Lulu was so happy to see me ehrn I got home and since she had been such a good little doggy gor her momma I took her out for an easy couple of miles in the late afternoon. Now we should all have s good 😴.
