It was a decent day as I was able to put in a nice afternoon walk AND help a rescue tortoise on its way to a new home.
We headed out before dawn to pick up Scooter, a 27 year old African Sulcata tortoise that had been badly injured in a house fire and was heading to Oklahoma to heal in his forever home.
A long recovery ahead for Scooter before the scars of the burns to his body disappear.
Even Lulu wad enjoying the ride 馃榾
Fortunately I was back home early enough for a good walk and I wasn't that stiff from all the driving. The sky was gray and it wad cold with the wind but otherwise it was fine. I went out on my regular route with a bit over a half mile on the dirt trails to mix it up a little.
I wasn't expecting to do that great but my pace ended up pretty good but my diet wasn't good (yummy pastry from one of our favorite stops on the road) so I'll have to do better going forward.
Good luck to Scooter and see everyone tomorrow.
