Enobong was a kind but stubborn teenager who often ignored her mother's advice. Whenever her mum reminded her to study, help with chores, or return home early, Enobong would roll her eyes and complain. One afternoon, after being asked to wash the dishes, she angrily shouted, "You are always disturbing me. I am not your mother!"
Her words cut deeply. Her mum quietly walked away without saying anything. That evening, the house felt unusually silent. Enobong noticed her favourite meal had not been prepared, and no one called her to eat. She began to realise how much her mother did for her every day without expecting praise.
Later that night, Enobong found her mum praying for her. Tears filled her eyes as she remembered the hurtful words she had spoken. She knelt beside her mother and whispered, "Mum, I'm sorry. I was wrong."
Her mother smiled gently, hugged her, and said, "I will always love you, no matter what."
From that day, Enobong became more respectful and grateful. She learned that a mother's love is priceless and that careless words can wound the people who care for us most. She never forgot the lesson of kindness, respect, and gratitude.
