This is my post on #freewriters3197 #dailyprompt siege hosted by @marinnewest's.
The small town of Akwanga was peaceful until one morning when armed men surrounded it. They blocked the roads and prevented anyone from entering or leaving. The people were terrified because food and water were becoming scarce.
The town leader, Chief Musa, called an emergency meeting. He encouraged everyone to remain calm and stay indoors. Volunteers distributed the remaining food among families, while the youth helped protect the children and elderly people.
For three days, the siege continued. On the fourth day, the sound of vehicles and helicopters filled the air. Government security forces had arrived to rescue the town. After a brief confrontation, the attackers fled.
The people came out of their houses, thanking God for their safety. Chief Musa praised their courage and unity. Although the siege had brought fear and suffering, it taught everyone an important lesson: when people stand together in difficult times, they can overcome even the greatest challenges.
