Assalamu Alaikum, everyone. I hope you are all doing well; I am doing well too. Today, I am here with a new recipe: chicken with papaya. You have likely prepared and enjoyed this dish at home many times—it is particularly popular among people in Bangladesh, as the curry is incredibly delicious and flavorful. While people abroad may not cook it quite this way, chicken itself is a favorite for everyone and is often a staple of our lunch. So, let’s take a look at the step-by-step preparation process.
ingredients :
➤500 grams of chicken meat
➤Six to seven pieces of papaya
➤One cup of chopped green chilies
➤One cup of chopped onions
➤One teaspoon of turmeric powder
➤One teaspoon of chili powder
➤One teaspoon of coriander powder
➤One teaspoon of cumin powder
➤Half a teaspoon of ginger paste
➤Half a teaspoon of garlic paste
➤One teaspoon of salt
➤2 tablespoons oil
➤3-4 pieces of cinnamon
➤Three or four bay leaves
➤Three or four cloves
➤Three or four cloves
➤Four or five black peppercorns
step by step :
First, heat some oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions and green chilies. Then, add ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, chili powder, peppercorns, turmeric powder, cloves, bay leaves, and cinnamon; stir well and sauté the mixture for 4–5 minutes. Next, add the meat pieces and sauté them for another three to four minutes before adding the chopped papaya pieces. Stir and sauté everything thoroughly. Once sautéed, pour in half a liter of water, stir well, and cover the pan with a lid. After 15–20 minutes of cooking covered, once the meat is well-cooked and tender, remove it from the heat.
While fish and rice may be the quintessential meal for Bengalis, chicken is a truly delicious dish that appeals to everyone; I highly recommend trying to cook it at home—I am sure you will enjoy it. Chicken can be prepared in various ways—with or without gravy—and there are different types available, such as broiler, layer, and Pakistani varieties (the latter being ideal for roasts), though layer and broiler chickens are typically used for curries. If you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment. Stay well and healthy; I am signing off for now.
