A necessary clarification
It was title number nine that I gave him and it is something that has happened to everyone who has written a book or publication.
It is a book that, for years, I owed to the second island of Cuba, for what it represents for all of us.
I like that this is the platform where I make the first presentation of a book that needs to polish some details so that it is in the best possible way.
Also clarify that the entire book is not included because it would make the publication very long and I don't want to bore you with my things, so only 7 of the poems appear.
Either way, I hope you enjoy what I present here.
As an introduction
This work constitutes a modest tribute to a municipality in Cuba that the author loves so much and from which he keeps so many pleasant moments, for the affection of its people and the culture of its people.
When I was 14 years old I asked my parents to study in a Citrus Plan and contribute to the development of their country. In those years the two most important plans were that of the Isla de la Juventud and that of Jagüey Grande, in the Matanzas province.
Despite my insistence and desire to go study on the island, my parents sent me to Jagüey and although I do not regret that decision, it hurt me a lot at that moment not to be sent to the second island of Cuba.
For this and other reasons the author decided to pay tribute in some way to the young island of Cuba.
The work is composed of fifteen poems that are preceded by a brief comment on the work in question. Topics related to its geography are addressed; its history; culture; personalities of great celebrity, not only for the island, but for all of Cuba; sport; the solidarity contribution made by this territory; its treasures; their nicknames, among other topics.
The poems
This first poem is a congratulations to all the islanders and especially to the Island, for the years of life. In it it is reflected in some way, how the cyclones that have hit this territory so much have risen again and again, in the face of each adversity, which due to its geographical location and being an island is quite exposed to meteorological accidents of this type. .
For this and other reasons the author decided that the first poem be called in the simplest way he could find: CONGRATULATIONS.
CONGRATULATIONS
Despite many years
you are still so full and beautiful
which planet than its star

There have been several NAMES that the second island of the Cuban Archipelago has had. Throughout its history it has been called differently: Ahao, Siguanea, La Evangelista, Santiago, Santa María, San Pauli, Colonia de la Reina Amalia, Isla de Pino, Isla de las Cotorras, Isla de los Piratas, Isla del Treasure, Island of Five Hundred Murders, Forgotten Island; inter alia.
On August 2, 1978, the name of the Isla de Pinos was changed to the Isla de la Juventud, in recognition of the thousands of young people who developed and compensated the island for the damage caused by Hurricane Alma in 1966.
This poem deals with part of this number of nicknames given to the island throughout its history.

Many times we make a mistake believing that strength comes from the amount of weight we lift or the strength in our voice and muscles; when in reality strength lies in the ability to bring together family, friends and love, nourish hope, the spirit and develop the capacity to love and forgive.
This poem could not be missing, it is the one dedicated to the most sacrificed being, who has had to manage, so that our lives at home are more bearable and we do not feel so many needs and shortages: THE WOMAN.

The author of this work is a lover of sports, especially the passion and national sport of all Cubans, baseball. He has always been a fervent follower of the Isla de la Juventud baseball team, which constitutes a paradigm of combativeness, teamwork, perseverance, the fight against those who never consider them favorites, the love of the jersey. , commitment to your audience and dedication on the ground.
This work could not be complete if the author did not dedicate a poem to this team, which the islanders support, follow and love so much.
In WARRIORS OR PIRATES, recognition is given to the flagship team of the Isle of Youth.
The poem refers to two of the greatest players that Pinero and Cuban baseball has produced: Carlos Llanes and Michel Enríquez. It is impossible for them all to be there, but the author wanted to recognize them all, through these two giants.

This poem refers to this beautiful value that distinguishes our people and that on SOLIDARY ISLAND tries to recognize all those who more than forty years ago began to develop this work of love called human solidarity.

ISLA BELLA is the title of this poem. This work takes a tour of its beauties: marble, as one of its main economic resources, the musical rhythm par excellence of the island, the Sucu Sucu, composed by a legitimate and much loved son not only from here, but from all of Cuba Mongo Rives. Reference is also made to other distinctive aspects that the pineros and pineras treasure such as fish, the nobility of their people, the beauty of their nature.

A poem had to be called ISLAND OF YOUTH, it was impossible for it not to be like that, since this modest work is dedicated to her, her people, her culture, her history, her geography, her monuments, treasures, her life.

Una aclaración necesaria
Hace 13 meses comencé a escribir este libro que titulé “Isla Bella”.
Fue el título número nueve que le di y es algo que le ha sucedido a todo el que ha escrito un libro o alguna publicación.
Es un libro que, desde hace años le debía a la segunda isla del Cuba, por lo que representa para todos nosotros.
Me gusta que esta sea la plataforma donde haga la primera presentación de un libro al que le falta pulir algunos detalles para que quede de la mejor manera posible.
Aclarar, además, que no está todo el libro porque haría muy larga la publicación y no quiero aburrirlos con mis cosas, por lo que solo aparecen 7 de los poemas.
De cualquier manera, espero que disfruten lo que aquí les presento.
A manera de introducción
Este trabajo constituye un modesto homenaje a un municipio de Cuba al que el autor tanto quiere y del que guarda tantos momentos agradables, por el cariño de su gente y la cultura de su pueblo.
Cuando tenía 14 años le pedí a mis padres estudiar en un Plan Citrícola y contribuir al desarrollo de su país. En esos años los dos planes más importantes eran el de la Isla de la Juventud y el de Jagüey Grande, en la provincia Matanzas.
A pesar de mi insistencia y los deseos de ir a estudiar para la Isla, mis padres me enviaron a Jagüey y aunque no se arrepiento de esa decisión, mucho me dolió en aquel instante no ser enviado para la segunda isla de Cuba.
Por esta y otras razones el autor decidió homenajear de alguna manera a la isla joven de Cuba.
La obra está compuesta por quince poemas que son antecedidos, por un breve comentario, sobre el trabajo en cuestión. Se abordan temas relacionados con su geografía; su historia; la cultura; personalidades de gran celebridad, no solo para la isla, sino para toda Cuba; el deporte; el aporte solidario hecho por este territorio; sus tesoros; sus motes, entre otros temas.
Los poemas
Este primer poema es una felicitación a todos los isleños y en especial a la Isla, por los años de vida. En él se refleja de alguna manera, cómo se ha levantado una y otra vez, ante cada adversidad, los ciclones que tanto han azotado a este territorio, que por su situación geográfica y por ser una isla está bastante expuesta a accidentes meteorológicos de este tipo.
Por esta y otra razones el autor decidió que el primer poema se llamara de la manera más sencilla que encontró: FELICIDADES.
FELICIDADES
A pesar de muchos años
sigues tan plena y bella
cual planeta que a su estrella
desea feliz cumpleaños.
No te han limado los daños
causado por los ciclones
al contrario, tus pasiones
te hacen más bella por años.
Y que cumplas muchos más
llena de amor y belleza

de metas que alcanzarás.
Varios han sido los NOMBRES que ha tenido la segunda isla del Archipiélago Cubano. A lo largo de su historia la han llamado de manera diferente: Ahao, Siguanea, La Evangelista, Santiago, Santa María, San Pauli, Colonia de la Reina Amalia, Isla de Pino, Isla de las Cotorras, Isla de los Piratas, Isla del Tesoro, Isla de los Quinientos Asesinatos, Isla Olvidada; entre otros.
El 2 de agosto de 1978 se le cambia el nombre de Isla de Pinos, por el de Isla de la Juventud, en reconocimiento a los miles de jóvenes que desarrollaron y resarcieron la isla ante los daños provocados por el Huracán Alma en 1966.
Este poema trata parte de esta cantidad de motes dados a la isla a lo largo de su historia.

Muchas veces nos equivocamos creyendo que la fortaleza la da cantidad de peso que levantamos o la fortaleza en la voz y los músculos; cuando en realidad la fortaleza está en la capacidad de aglutinar a la familia, los amigos y el amor, alimentar la esperanza, el espíritu y desarrollar la capacidad de amar y perdonar.
Este poema no podía faltar, es el dedicado al ser más sacrificado, quien ha tenido que ingeniárselas, para que nuestras vidas en casa sean más llevaderas y no sintamos tantas necesidades y escaseces: LA MUJER.
MUJER
Niña, joven, federada
mujer dulce, combatiente
dama tierna, ser valiente
primera en cada jornada.
Has sido muy maltratada
por el Periodo Especial,
pero tu capacidad genial
te hace batalla ganada.
De la estirpe de Mariana,
Vilma; Celia; Haydée
eres cotidiana fe,

Te alzas cada mañana
a dar lo mejor de ti
a hacer los tuyos feliz
y conquistar la alborada.
El autor de esta obra es un amante de los deportes, en especial de la pasión y deporte nacional de todos los cubanos, el béisbol. Siempre ha sido un ferviente seguidor del equipo de pelota de la Isla de la Juventud, el que constituye un paradigma de la combatividad, el trabajo en equipo, la constancia, la lucha contra los que nunca los dan como favoritos, el amor a la camiseta, compromiso con su público y entrega en el terreno.
No podía estar completo este trabajo si el autor no dedicaba un poema a este equipo, que tanto los isleños apoyan, siguen y quieren.
En GUERREROS O PIRATAS se hace un reconocimiento al equipo insignia de la Isla de la Juventud.
En el poema se hace referencia a dos de los peloteros más grandes que ha dado el béisbol pinero y de Cuba: Carlos Llanes y Michel Enríquez. Es imposible que todos estuvieran, pero el autor quiso reconocerlos a todos, a través de estos dos gigantes.
GUERREROS O PIRATAS
No entiendo la discusión
si piratas o pineros
solo sé que son guerreros
que entregan el corazón.
Orgullo de la nación
es tu equipo de béisbol
que brilla cual luz del sol

En este poema se hace referencia a este valor tan bello que distingue a nuestro pueblo y que en la ISLA SOLIDARIA trata de reconocer a todos aquellos que hace más de cuarenta años comenzaron a gestar esta obra de amor llamada solidaridad humana.
Todo esto trata de recogerse en este poema y el agradecimiento de muchos de los que aquí se formaron.

ISLA BELLA es el título de este poema. En esta obra se hace un recorrido por sus bellezas: el mármol, como uno de sus principales recursos económicos, el ritmo musical por excelencia de la isla, el Sucu Sucu, compuesto por un hijo legítimo y muy querido no solo de aquí, sino de toda Cuba Mongo Rives. También se hace referencia a otros aspectos distintivos que atesoran los pineros y pineras como el pescado, la nobleza de su gente, la belleza de su naturaleza.

Un poema tenía que llamarse ISLA DE LA JUVENTUD, era imposible que no fuera así, pues este modesto trabajo está dedicado a ella, a su gente, su cultura, su historia, su geografía, sus monumentos, tesoros, su vida.
Durante el desarrollo del trabajo se hace referencia a lugares emblemáticos de la Isla que forman este municipio especial.
