If you think you have your life figured out just because of some moments of excitement, joy, or success, in a matter of seconds, if calamity or trouble comes, you may forget that you ever had that excitement in the first place.
You see, life will sometimes test your patience, and it may seem like you don’t know what you are doing or that you are not doing enough. When trouble comes, it would be as if you have committed enough crimes. You will start questioning your own faith and ask if you have ever offended someone who has refused to forgive you. You forget that no matter what, whether you think you have offended someone or not, life will certainly happen to you.
It is never about one cause or another, and I also think the kind of community we live in determines the kind of problems we face. Road accidents, for instance, are not as common in villages where people mostly use bicycles or motorcycles rather than cars. Other ailments might occur, but the truth is that where we live will determine a lot of things about us and the kinds of crises or issues we are likely to face in life.
Life is never free of obstacles. As some people say, this life is a battlefield, while some believers will say that this life is a warfare. We are just here to battle, and whoever returns without blemish will have to thank their Creator.
No one ever sees evil coming, and even when you see it coming, it is difficult to prevent it from happening when you are not told the exact time it will happen. So, is that to say that we are living a default life? I don’t think so.
I’m certain that everything happens for a reason, and whatever the reason may be, we just have to live our lives the way we can.
At times, sickness will just come, not because you didn’t try enough. You would realise that while you are thinking about one thing, another thing will be happening. I never thought that I would stay in a hospital for two days with my daughter, let alone staying for almost a week now. Some people will say it is normal for someone to be sick, and that is the truth. But when you start dealing with things over and over again, then it becomes something else.
I console myself by saying that this phase shall pass, and it certainly will. It just happens, and with time, everything will be back to normal. So, it is expedient to say that we should live life better and enjoy it while it lasts.
Nothing in life will continue forever. Whether it is love, sickness, sorrow, success, or joy, everything will cease one day. The bottom line is that we have to do what we can when we can and always be grateful, regardless.
