In my three decades plus, I have learnt to understand some things about life, and one of them is that you can do everything right and still not get the desirable result you want. So, should we now give up? I think that would be the most stupid thing to do, right? But at the same time, we humans can sometimes get tired and fed up when the situation gets beyond our control and circumstances keep getting in our way and preventing us from doing what we want to do.
I know of a boss who practised almost day and night for an examination and still failed the examination. When you look at this, you may become discouraged and no longer want to continue putting in the effort. Yet, we see people who put in little effort but still excel at the end of the day. Life is just not predictable.
I have also seen two friends who learnt from the same boss and opened shops close to each other, doing the same thing and investing almost the same amount of money. Yet, one became more successful than the other. Although, there are factors that we also need to consider. What if one of them has a family or relatives to cater for? That would also affect how such a person would turn out.
There are a lot of things that we do not see, yet we are quick to judge from afar. Humans are too quick to judge others. There is this saying that when you do not have money, nobody talks about your poverty, but once they start noticing a difference in your life, you will see them engaging in side talks and trying to question everything.
We know that it is not easy to come by money, and in this part of the world, or even in the world at large, there are shady things people do. When you see some of these things, you may begin to question how they came about their wealth. We can say that this is normal.
However, society does not care about who does not have. All we care about is how people get what they have. If we look out for one another, I believe we will all be better.
I remember a boy who started carrying loads in the market and struggled through school. But when he met someone who changed his story, people started talking. There was gossip here and there, but that did not stop him from progressing and achieving his aims.
Life will also humble us, and we have to understand that. No matter what, we have to learn how to be there for one another and support each other without looking down on people.
