Ladies and gentlemen... I have tragic news.
I. Lost. A. Bet.
To my husband. 😩 And oh boy, it hurts.

You know that feeling when you're so sure you're gonna win? Like, 99.9%? You're already celebrating in your head? Yeah... then reality slaps you in the face. HARD. 😅

So here's the deal. I only bet with my husband when I'm ALMOST 100% certain I'll win. Why? Because he never bets for money—oh no—he bets for funny dares. And trust me, that man has a comedy brain when it comes to punishments.

This time, he dared me to do 10 pushups.
"Only 10?" I thought. EASY. I feel strong. I feel energetic. I GOT THIS. 💪
So I said: “Let’s go. If I win—you bake dessert.”
And not just any dessert, the one and only dessert he knows how to bake (because he secretly watched me enough to learn it).
He agreed way too fast… That should’ve been a red flag 🚩

If I lost? I had to bake an apple pie. Which I love… but I was NOT in the mood to bake that day. But hey, I’m gonna win, right?

WRONG. 😭

Pushup 1: Cool.
2: Easy.
3, 4, 5: I’m rocking it.
6: Umm… okay.
7: Uh-oh.
8: Nope. DONE. COLLAPSE.
I hit the floor like a dramatic movie scene. My arms were spaghetti. 🍝

Meanwhile, my husband? LAUGHING. Like a villain in a cartoon.
He even did the 10 pushups right in front of me… just to show off. 🙄

Then he looked at me with the biggest smirk and said,
“Baaaaby... You loooost. Time to BAKE! ⏰🍏🥧”

I tried to charm my way out of it:
“What if… you just eat me instead? I’m sweet too 😏”
He laughed. Hard. Then hit me with:
“Nice try. Bake the pie or you sleep on the couch. 😈”

So, with aching arms and a bruised ego, I started baking.
Because apparently… apple pie is sweeter than me. Rude. 😂

BUT! The good news? I make a mean apple pie. So here it is:

SUPER YUMMY APPLE PIE 🍎🥧
(a.k.a. the price of my defeat)

Dough

350g flour

0.5 sachet baking powder

1 sachet vanilla sugar

120g powdered sugar

150g butter or margarine

2 egg yolks

4 tbsp sour cream

Let the dough chill (literally).

Meanwhile, grate apples, mix with sugar, cinnamon, breadcrumbs.

Divide dough in two. Roll it out.

Bake at 180°C for 60 minutes. Try not to cry while it bakes. 🥲

Serve it with pride (and sore arms).

And guess what?
According to my husband, it was totally worth my defeat. 😤
But I swear...next time, I’m gonna train in secret. 15 pushups. NO MERCY. 🏋️‍♀️
(I’ll keep you posted... if I survive 😂)

Now your turn...
Have YOU ever lost a bet to your partner? What did you have to do? 👀😄
