In this post, we'll provide the prompt for the coming week.
We ask that you read our Creative Nonfiction Tips post to learn about the creative nonfiction genre and review our guidelines.
Important notes:
Thank you to all who participated in last week's prompt: Not as easy as it looked.
Highlighting @rukkie, with the story:
She pitied me and collected the pestle. Then, I saw her swing into action. In no time, she salvaged my watery pounded yam and turned it into a smooth texture.
Curator's comment :
Rukkie offers a very relatable CNF about attempting to do something that her mother did, which looked really easy. Of course it was far from easy and the whole episode taught rukkie not only to take time to learn how to do things properly, but also just how much appreciation she should have for her skilled mother. Lovely read!
Highlighting @Fashtioluwa, with the story:
We said our goodbyes, and after the call ended, I walked into the kitchen to finally prepare my dinner, feeling a little lighter than before. I turned on the music, then started slicing and dancing, with the hope of preparing something delicious for dinner.
Curator's comment :
fashtioluwa writes an easy to read conversational-toned CNF about the difficulties he encountered while working from home. Everyone believed he was living the soft life, but he soon convinced his friends that it wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be.
Face the music.
