I know I just finished berating about how 'Sex Education' season 3 was bad. Still, hear me out. I am a big fan of Netflix now, well, kinda; and I have been looking out for new Tv Shows to watch. I recently started 'The morning Show' and 'The Office' also. Yes, I am a big fan of Ricky Gervais. Anyways, I stumbled upon 'Squid Game' after seeing the trailer in the coming soon tab jist a few weeks ago. Today I binge watched the whole season 1 and WOW. Why isn't everyone going on about it? Why am I not seeing tons of post about how good it was? If you're speaking of a good TV show in all ramifications, then this is your pick.
So 'Squid Game' is Korean Tv show on Netflix about deadly Competition that is aimed at poor and in-debt people of about 456 players to play for a catch price of over $ 34Miliion in Korean currency. They play a bunch of kids game and anyone who loses gets eliminated (killed). It's a fascinating show. Okay, I must warn you, if you haven't gotten the stomach for it, don't bother. There's lots of blood and gore. I think one of the fascinating thing about the show is the acting though. The characters were brilliant. Each seem to be at the top of their game. The main character is 'Gi-Hun', a 36 years old bum who still stays with his mother and lost custody of his daughter because he couldn't pay child support. What's worse? He is in serious debt. The show basically hovers around this character, yet going down and deep into all other different characters stories. Each having a unique and sometimes disturbing story.
I really want to talk about the ending. There was a major twist to it, very open, allowing for multiple interpretations, but I'd hate to ruin the show for you. I am going to be a careful as possible. So basically 'Gi-hun' is supposed to board a plane and go to meet his daughter right at the end of the last episode, but he calls the game organizers, gives his information and threatens them. Basically, he went back, and decided not to take the flight. This act flung open the possibility of there being a second season, it only just becomes a matter of Netflix endorsing it or something. I am sure looking forward to it.
Gore, drama, emotional, intelligent, irreverent, funny, etc. This afe just a few words to describe the show. If you are looking for a good TV show to see, I strongly suggest you see 'Squid Game'. Thank you for reading. I truly appreciate. Cheers.
