SHALL WE?!!Okay I have to inform you guys beforehand, I don't know anything about genres and all, haha, but let's get to it anyways. This is a beautiful song by a Nigerian artiste about his grandma. It hit me every time because the song makes me remember my mother and all the unimaginable sacrifice she has made for the family. She is immobile now with an injury, but she still strives every day to make ends me. I couldn't ask for a better mother. He sings in a local Nigerian Language Yoruba and this makes it all the more beautiful. He is possibly my favorite conscious artist.
You don't have to be a Christian or even religious to be able to appreciate the beautiful and powerful words and meaning embedded in this song. What makes this song even more profound is that Dax, the artiste sang a song Dear God that some would consider blasphemous but it was beautiful; then coming to Child of God was brilliant. A song of immense meaning to humanity. Fun fact, the bloke is Nigerian too.
At some point I was in the seminary and I was completely caught off by the internet, people, calls, etc. This was one of those songs that really kept me up. Not that I was broken or something, lol. No, I wasn't depressed, but It was a song that really made me feel good. A beautiful classic. I decided to delve into Bobby Vinton and all his works and it was magical.
