Bright Orange mushrooms

Happy #MushroomMonday 馃崉. I found a few mushrooms on my morning walk. These may be Jack-o'latern (Omphalotus illudens) mushrooms but remember I'm a relative newbie and take all my ID's as a google-informed guess 馃槉

Orange mushrooms and green ferns

The orange mushrooms were growing at the base of a tree among some ferns. I was just out walking... and stupidly didn't pay attention to the tree or get a good shot of stem or underside of these mushrooms.

Emerging red mushroom

Here's a pretty red mushroom emerging from the leaves and pine needles.

Red mushroom

Another example of this red mushroom. I would guess this is Russula emetica or the sickener. Also known as the vomiting Russula. Gotta love mushroom names 馃榿

A mushrooms view of the forest

Fun photo of a nice white mushroom with a forest green backdrop.

White mushroom

My best guess and best work googling suggests these are Amanita bisporigera. "It is commonly known as the eastern destroying angel amanita, the eastern North American destroying angel or just as the destroying angel." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita_bisporigera.

Opened white mushroom

I hit the jackpot for cool mushroom names today 馃ぃ But these names reinforce the importance of proper mushroom identification. Be careful if you are foraging and find an experienced foraging mentor to help with your ID's.

White puffy mushrooms

One final mushroom. I think these are puffballs.

Thanks for checking out my post 馃憤 Have a great #MushroomMonday
