Welcome to my #wednesdaywalk hosted as always by @tattoodjay. Today I took my normal walk down to the lake but found some interesting nature shots to share. I started with the destination 馃檪 Lovely clear blue skies and glass surface on lake this morning.
On the way down to the lake there are lots of these bladder campions on the edge of the road. The bladders were almost translucent in the morning light.
The honeysuckle is past blooms but putting on berries. The berries will turn bright red when ripe. The birds especially waxwings love them.
Next was quite a surprise 馃槷 a good sized black bear with a pretty brown nose was in a clearing along the road. He was not interested in us 馃槄 and wondered back into the woods. There have been lots of sightings in the neighborhood. Mostly eating out of garbage cans 馃檮 come on people keep your trash secure or inside.
Lots of critters out. Here's a very full garter snake. Maybe a few less critters in that rock wall, he is obviously bloated from a recent meal.
Remember the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar? On Monday, he ate one apple.
Speaking of childhood books, here is mother goose. Or maybe several mothers corralling their young ones away from the curious walkers with a camera.
When I got back from the walk to the lake, I checked on the garden.
Raspberries are blooming.
A butterfly was enjoying the lavender.
And a yellow warbler randomly landed on a small tomato plant 馃し
Hope you enjoyed my #wednesdaywalk in beautiful Vermont. Have a great day and take a few minutes to slow down for your own #wednesdaywalk.
