Two years ago first time i've heard about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, first thought was about mafia, Yakuza and illegal money, so i wasn't so happy and interested in Bitcoin. I didn't either know that there are more cryptocurrencies without Bitcoin.
Life was going well, i lived, worked in IT, banking sectors, started my own businesses. Everything was perfect and quite interesting, but suddenly (May 2017) from many media sources i've heard about Ethereum blockchain revolution, it's value went up around +3000% in 5 months, Bitcoin reached almost 3000$ value, and coinmarket became the hottest place in finance world.
When you see +3000% in 5 months, hear many success stories, you don't have any choice, only do something. So, let's begin.
Cloud mining
First of all, i didn't know how to buy cryptocurrency, so decided to use Genesis mining platform. Here i bought Open-Ended Bitcoin Mining contract 20 TH/s. I thought that my investment of 2500$ will return in 5-6 months. But now i see that investment hopefully returns in 8-12 months, because of every time decreasing payouts:
I've already had 10 pending* payouts of 0.06039684 BTC (158$ today value). It's around 5% ROI in 10 days, but as i said payouts are decreasing, because of mining difficulty. Need time to see if my investment will be profitable. Choose Cryptocurrencies wallet
After Genesis experience i was interested in buying some Bitcoin and Ether and try to trade. If i want to buy cryptocurrency, first i need cryptocurrency wallet. There are many crypto wallets and you have to choose carefully. Most secured are offline hardware wallets - most popular of them is Ledger Nano hardware wallet, but i didn't choose it because it's not for free and little bit for advanced users. I have Iphone, so i wanted more easy way to store my cryptocurrency. I've chosen between: Coinbase, Blockchain, Copay, Airbitz, Breadwallet and Jaxx. I picked up Jaxx because of multi cryptocurrency possibility where i can store BTC, ETH, ETC, LTC, DASH, REP, ZEC, RSK. But be careful and read more about Jaxx, because last week i've read some headlines like:
Jaxx Wallet ‘Vulnerability’: Users Report $400k Funds Thefts
But at the end of article there were correction:
After publication of the article below, Jaxx requested acknowledgment that the "theft" of coins referred to is based on unsubstantiated source material, and that definitive proof that a security vulnerability or any other error on the part of Jaxx has not been proven.
So, i'm not sure if it's true, safe or not. I don't have much funds in my wallet so i take some risk on me.
Where to buy cryptocurrencies and what to buy?
Now, with cryptocurrency wallet i will be able to get payouts from Genesis, also i will buy some cryptocurrencies. I've registered on many platforms where i can buy Bitcoins: Coinbase, CoinMama, Bitcoin.de, Bitstamp, Bitbay but there were too high fees, i've chosen Bity.com where fees were on my eye the best. Via Bity i bought some Ether (2,85 ETH) and Bitcoin (0,4 BTC).
Cryptocurrency exchange
I wanted to buy some Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Litecoin (LTC), so i've had to choose crypto exchange platform. I've checked on coincapmarket most popular exchange platform and picked up POLONIEX.

Now when i have some experience and know some cryptocurrency business, i've started to do some research why, what and how cryptocurrencies works. As you see, one of my stop is Steem, here i'm writing my first story and testing what is Steem and benefits can bring to users.

My plan is to hold my cryptocurrencies and wait 1-2 years. Also depends on situation i'm planning to top up my portfolio with new revolutionary crypto.
New cryptocurrencies i'm interested in: Steem, Golem, Ubiq, AntShares, IOTA, DASH.
