I just finished a 12.124km running that lasted about 1hh:11mm:47ss !
When I woke in the night it was raining hard, but it had stopped by the morning. I eventually dragged myself out of bed, had a banana and some water, and headed out. I was aiming for at least 10km depending on how it went. Lots of puddles and the trees were dripping on me at times.
I was definitely not getting much speed today. Legs were heavy, but I plodded on. The underpass back to Stotfold was still flooded, so I got to shuffle the other way along the barrier. I did the loop around the new estate and picked up some speed as I went downhill past the crowd of ducks by the stream. No time for photos.
I slowed down again on the flatter parts, but added some extra diversions in Arlesey to stretch it out a bit over 12km.
Not a great run, but good to get out. 37km in a week is a lot for me and maybe it is draining my reserves. I want to increase my stamina as well as my speed, so I will try to keep the mileage up in coming weeks.
Saw a few people out today including some runners, but perhaps quieter than usual. I listened to a few podcasts, but I also have various thoughts bouncing around my brain. I find this time out there valuable in multiple ways.
