I just finished a 16.083km running that lasted about 1hh:29mm:43ss !
I was determined to do a longer run today and that is why I did not run yesterday as I wanted to save my legs. I was aiming for 15km and it ended up a little longer. It is a glorious morning and it soon warmed up.
I started by heading to Fairfield as I usually do and then forked off towards the parkrun course. This means getting the big climbs out of the way early on. I actually did okay with those and was able to keep going on the steeper one. There were a lot of people out walking this morning and so I had to give them some space.
Heading away from the Grange towards Norton it is more downhill and so I could pick up a bit of speed. I was hoping for around 5:40min/km and I was mostly hitting that as the little voice in my earbuds told me. I was listening to podcasts as usual and had This Week In Google, Radiolab, Ubuntu Podcast and Stack Overflow.
I went around the northern side of Stotfold and picked up a track I had not used before that joined with the network across the fields near Etonbury. There were lots more people around there, including some runners. I seem to be using the Kingfisher Way past Dove House a lot lately and today was no exception.
By the time I got back to Arlesey I was ready to take the shortest route home. That meant one more climb up House Lane before coasting down the High Street.
I only had half a banana before I set off, so I was ready for a late breakfast. I did not actually sleep so well last night, but I feel okay now. Got a few chores to do today.
Have a great day and stay well.
