Recently I have been trying to get photos of bees as I see them busy around flowers. I generally just have my phone, which is a Motorola G5. It's basic, but the camera is not bad. The main issue I tend to have is getting the right thing in focus.
Yesterday I was at a stately home with a great vegetable garden. They had cardoons, which are an edible thistle and I spotted a bumblebee on one that was covered in pollen. This is one of the pictures I got.
When I zoomed in I got this, which I think is nice. I hadn't noticed the hoverfly originally. I know its low resolution, but there's some detail there.
Here's another cropped shot where you can see the pollen.
I think the flower looks a bit like a sea anemone.
I could get better pictures with a decent camera, but it's about what you have with you. Technique and knowing the capabilities of you gear are also factors.
Steem on!
