Viernes casi medio día y mi esposo me dice que vienen unos amigos a la casa, como estamos en temporada de ahorros no quería salir a comprar cosas.
Así que improvisé un arroz para batallón, que sea sabroso y rinda para que todos comamos bien...

Rice with chicken for emergencies Friday almost noon and my husband tells me that some friends are coming to the house, as we are in savings season I didn't want to go out and buy things.

Ingredientes:

• 2 tazas de arroz
• 1 Pechuga
• Aceite de oliva
• 2 pimentones
• 1 cebolla
• Ramita de cebollín
• 3 ajos grandes
• Sal, pimienta, orégano, paprika.
• Un apio pequeño
• 4 lonjas de jamón
• 6 aceitunas
  
  

Ingredients:

• 2 cups of rice
• 1 breast
• Olive oil
• 2 bell peppers
• 1 onion
• Sprig of chives
• 3 large garlic
• Salt, pepper, oregano, paprika.
• A small celery
• 4 slices of ham
• 6 olives
  
  

Previamente puse a sancochar una pechuga, con orégano, un poquito de cúrcuma y una pizca de sal.
Lavo y pico todos los ingredientes, cuando estoy apurada trato de tener todo listo para ir agregando sin detenerme tanto a picar en el momento.

I previously parboiled a breast, with oregano, a little bit of turmeric and a pinch of salt.
I wash and chop all the ingredients, when I am in a hurry I try to have everything ready to add without stopping so much to chop at the moment.

Cuando ya están listos mis ingredientes picaditos, los coloco en una olla con un chorrito de aceite de oliva, y comienzo a sofreírlos muy bien.

When my chopped ingredients are ready, I place them in a pot with a drizzle of olive oil, and start frying them very well.

Luego de que la cocina tiene el rico aroma de los aliños, agrego las dos tazas de arroz y también lo sofrío un poco con los aliños.
En este paso no agregué el apio.

After the kitchen has the rich aroma of the seasonings, I add the two cups of rice and also sauté it a little with the seasonings.
In this step I did not add the celery.

Con el agua que quedó de la pechuga sancochada, le coloco una taza al arroz luego de que esta sofreído con los aliños, además agrego tres tazas de agua, y dejo que se vaya cocinando.

With the water left over from the parboiled breast, I add a cup to the rice after it has been sautéed with the seasonings, add three cups of water, and let it cook.

Mientras el arroz se va cociendo termino de esmechar el pollo.

While the rice is cooking I finish cooking the chicken.

Pico y le agrego el apio, sal, pimienta, orégano y paprika.

I chop and add the celery, salt, pepper, oregano and paprika.

Pico y agrego las aceitunas.

I chop and add the olives.

Acto seguido agrego el pollo ya cocido y desmechado a el arroz, y lo dejo que termine de secarse el agua.

Then I add the cooked and shredded chicken to the rice and let the water dry out.

Me hubiese gustado mostrarle las fotos, pero cuando mi esposo llegó servimos y comimos y hasta me olvidé de hacerles una presentación del arroz, lo serví con una ensalada cesar que trajo mi esposo y todos quedamos muy complacidos, eso es lo más importante para mi, que les guste y todos coman suficiente.
Como ven es una forma económica de hacer arroz para varias personas.

I would have liked to show you the pictures, but when my husband arrived we served and ate and I even forgot to make a presentation of the rice, I served it with a caesar salad that my husband brought and we were all very pleased, that is the most important thing for me, that you like it and everyone eats enough.
