Jesus Christ, I lost 20 pounds!? I mean, I did get in probably the worst shape of my life this winter, and then the broken ribs at the beginning of summer didn’t really help, but.. 20 pounds? In like two weeks? Thats wild; especially because I don’t really see or feel that much of a difference. I really don’t weigh myself often, and knew I was gonna lose some weight over time.. thats pretty inevitable as I kind of return to my normal self. Still, when I just happened to step on the scale out of random curiosity on my way to the shower, it didn’t seem right. After triple checking though, it was.

Anyways, it’s not the craziest thing in the world, I was just a little shocked at how fast that happened. I don’t remember when the only other time I’ve stepped on that scale was, but it really couldn’t have been that long ago. Huh

Well, yesterday was essentially a repeat of the day before. Woke up later than I wanted to, almost missed the bus, forgot necessities, and had an entirely pleasant day. More tiring this time though; even though I’m still kinda blowing it trying to get ready to come down to Sandy on my days off, I’m accidentally developing a routine. Which means I’m actually able to make more of my time there between the first and last bus down the 25 mile hill than I am when I’m wandering around like a lost puppy.

Same old jazz; get off the bus, get my 7-eleven coffee; head to the skatepark. Hope to get there early enough to beat the crowds. It being a Sunday, that was near impossible. It wasn’t long before I went from alone to 40 people there. Still, it was a great time, and even my old three-legged friend Jack from yesterday came to visit.

Once I started getting a little tired and had enough of the ever-growing crowd, I hiked down to the river. It was hotter than I expected. Of course, by the time I re-emerged in view of the sky, after being under the cover of trees for the hike down to the water; the sun had completely disappeared. In its place, a strange kind of fog; almost looking like smoke. But the wildfires had died down tremendously since the last rain, and no smoke smell. It was rather beautiful; but it also kinda killed my urge to jump in the water.

Instead I read for a little bit sitting on a long-dead log, listening to the sounds of the flowing river and the fisherman scattered throughout this specific stretch. A good amount were out there; I had to remind myself it was Sunday. I don’t think I’ve had a Sunday off since I started this job.

So back through the woods I went. There’s a split in the trail that goes down to this spot that has always looked thickly overgrown; so I’ve always avoided it. I walked past it, double backed, and decided to check it out. It was so much cooler than the main path I’ve been taking this entire time. Longer, harder; sure. But much more serene and downright pleasant. Definitely stoked on the decision to check it out.

Then back to my normal afternoon routine. Short workout at the gym, drop off my belongings in an available locker and pray nothing gets stolen, run some errands, come back, work out more.. you get it. I actually had time to really work out and man, I was fucking swaying when I started back up the hill to the bus stop. My legs were shot.. the skating beforehand really did me in. It felt good to be so tired.

I got back up to Govy so excited for bed. Well, I remembered I had to do laundry before work this morning. Like, no choice, had to. My entire work uniform was in my laundry bag with my stinky socks and a rag soaked in spilt coffee.. so it had to happen. I kind of struggled through that honestly.. i just wanted to eat and pass out so badly. Which I eventually did. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend :)
