When I got into gardening many years ago cacti and succulents were my focus. I am glad I went with that choice, besides the occasional spine in my skin they are real easy to care for outdoors. When you live in an area that does not have freezes cacti and succulents are those kind of plants you can usually just plant and forget about. But once they get established its pretty amazing to see the growth and unique flowers they produce over the years. In many cases the only water they need is from rains, though sometimes long droughts you need to help them out. But for the most part less care is better for cacti.

Starting a cactus from a seed is something I have not tried yet, though someone on the Hive blockchain indeed has had luck with doing this. A 3 month old Dragonfruit plant is growing and showing its first signs of live. Its amazing how slow it grows and requires alot of patience.
