Today I learned something new and something most people in the world have never tried. I learned how to use a kicksled.
It is kind of like the ones you will see in movies with huskies pulling it except this is Finland, people are too cheap to buy dogs so they Flintstones the sled around themselves. I asked Viski dog to pull me - he looked at me like I an crazy.
I learned it really fast too and didn't even fall over once. Mummi and Pappa were really happy they could teach me. They love teaching me new things, especially traditional Finnish stuff like this.
A good thing in Finland is that people still use these things and kids still get dragged along in the snow on sleds rather than drive everywhere. Too often these days people go for convenience at the loss of having a lot of fun. Sure, there is a bit of legwork involved but, that is what we have legs for isn't it?
Tomorrow is a daycare day so the there will be no kicksledding, but Mummy will drag me there in my pink sled as it has been snowing a lot and my little legs struggle.
That is what I say anyway.
