People think children are pretty naive but, we can troll with the best of them. My favourite at the moment is to ask Daddy to sing Baa Baa black sheep and just as he gets to the end of the first line I ask for Mary had a little lamb instead. And, he is a good dad so he switches songs and just as he starts, I ask for Baa Baa black sheep again. It cracks me up.
Yesterday he told me off for it and said that I had to give him more time to finish the song so, I waited until he got half way through and then asked for Mary had a little lamb.. :D Parents... Gotta love em.
I am getting funnier lately I feel. I think it is because I am learning so many new words every day and working out how to lay with them a bit. I think I get that from my mummy though as daddy is not the greatest with his words, especially considering he uses so many.
I like to sing a lot of the words I learn and put phrases into little tunes that I know, it helps me remember them it seems. Sometimes my memory freaks mummy and daddy out as I remember a lot of a lot. My vocabulary is building faster than expected it seems.
The other day I got my first dirty looks too. We were at the children's clinic for a check up and as we were putting on our shoes to leave, there was a little girl about my age doing the same with her mother. I first said 'Vauva' (baby) and then 'Kengät' (shoes). The mother smiled at me, the baby didn't really notice.
I figured the baby was just shy so I said 'Hei' (hello) and smiled. Nothing. Finally it dawned on me, the little girl didn't speak Finnish! So I repeated it all in English and then sang a song but instead of a smile, I got a dirty look... from the mother... I ignored it and just kept talking to mummy and daddy as I normally do which annoyed her more.
Daddy thought it was funny but mummy was a little angry after. I think the difference is that daddy has faced quite a lot of different types of these behaviors in his life but mummy hasn't. People are pretty silly really.
I have a feeling that I am going to see a few more dirty looks in my life but daddy seems to think that it will give me a view of the world that will make me both stronger and more compassionate. We'll see. For now, I am just happy singing all the words I learn.
