I don’t play a whole lot of Splinterlands today, the exception being Brawls with the @dismayedworld account where you must use your skill to win and not depend on a Battle Helper to defeat your opponent... 'Yes OK...'
That is the theory, though since the banning took place I have yet to see my win percentage increase at all. If anything it’s gotten a little worse and I haven’t used those ‘helpers’ in months.
...'that's because it hasn't changed, at least not at my level of play'...
Whereas the Battle Helper developed by @sylar (XBOT) has been partially disabled for Modern this is just in the Champions league. I do know there are others and regardless of TOS changes, human greed will not prevent these other 'helpers' from continuing and using subterfuge to achieve their wins.
I have a Brawl starting shortly and my guild leader has assigned me to an 'All Cards' fray. If I get one win I will be doing well, being Teir 4 Brawls.
It's tough at this level and the account I use doesn't have the likes of 'Yodin Zaku', 'Mylor Crowling', 'Scarred Llama Mage', or 'Bytanzine Kitty' to give me the edge.
...'...want to win? then buy these, some are a lot more useful than others. The price is a giveaway...'
I am not complaining as at higher levels, you need these cards to compete. Mine are all rented out on another account and give me my lion's share of DEC income, besides the excellent SPS rental system, though you need to wait out the lowballers at times.
Splinterlands, even at its current low is still an expensive endeavor to partake in if you want to see even a few dollars a day in income. Maybe that's the problem, and everyone sees it as an income generator rather than a game.
...'...Immortalis is going to do well for you against Alric, it goes without saying...'
I was never a fast thinker. Give me a strategy board and some time and then you will see results.
Several days ago, I sold some shares. Funnily enough, they were Banking shares, a constitution I was ambivalent about at the time of buying, but now downright detest.
They were giving me dividends at 5% or so, but overall I had made a loss since the purchase. HBD gives me a 20% return, that’s four times as much.
...'If want $500 for my 1700 HIVE and am in no hurry. It will fill soon enough once BTC starts moving again'...
The money came into HIVE several days ago, some went to Splinterlands and I bought some of those 'Bully' cards at Level 1. $500 went into a buy order for HBD (which has not been filled yet), and the rest got powered up.
The return of the $500 of HBD exceeds the dividends I was making from the Banking shares, fuck them…, I am not interested in cyclical stocks anymore and especially the banks that make crypto conduits tough to maintain.
...XBOT tokens, they ain't cheap'...
This brings me to the subject matter of this post. I had an account filled with some decent Bronze cards and was using a trial XBOT token which had just expired. The account was being played in Wild (where it’s now 100% BOTS) and was doing well.
How about adding 'Yodin Zaku', 'Mylor Crowling', 'Scarred Llama Mage', and 'Bytanzine Kitty' to the roster, as well as an XBOTLITE token?
I have always wanted a set of these 'power cards' at the base level, so bought them and added ‘Mimosa Nightshare’ and ‘Chanseus the Great’ to make it almost complete. The ‘Lir Deepswimmers’ have gone up a lot lately, so she got ditched.
...'All these new people joining the guild within minutes of each other? My spidey senses are tingling and there's something not quite right'...
Next, I joined a guild run by a real-time local friend of mine by the name of @snarrg. He's single-handedly built it contributing all the funds so far and I figured it might be fun to help him out a little.
He tells me people join it and then do nothing besides leech off the minute Brawls rewards. It is Tier one so those will be small. He's made me an Officer so I will be watching the freeloaders with interest and doing some kicking if they are not at least trying to win, or worse abstaining from play if assigned a fray.
I joined for the fun, not to maximize my SPS earnings from those power cards. After being bullied in my other larger guild I figured it might be fun to have some payback.

...'it's good to be a bully sometimes 😃 - @revisesociology '...
The first Brawl starts in eight hours and Yodin is itching to get out of the doors. Now I know how @revisesociology feels bullying all those newbies with barely any cards when he writes those posts of his.
It's bad being a bully but look at it this way. At Tier One, you are unlikely to get another opponent with these types of cards. I do need some kind of rage outlet for my frequent Splinterlands defeats!
