Here's an old outing to Chicago for this #wednesdaywalk by 
My wife and I decided to take a staycation and just see sights around Chicago. The first stop was at the bean, aka Cloudgate.
Here's what the bean looks like underneath. Lots of funhouse mirror deformations.
After visiting the bean we took the south shore train line to the Indiana Dunes.
The dunes are quite large here and are quite difficult to climb. Once you climb over them you can get to the beach.
The beach here at the south of Lake Michigan is more shallow and the water is quite warm. You also have to be careful swimming here because of riptides.
The winds by the beach bring a lot of butterflies. There are quite a few milkweed plants here for them to feed on too.
After the beach we went back to Chicago to head to the Shedd Aquarium.
At the Shedd Aquarium we found out these lampreys live in Lake Michigan...
Imagine getting one of these stuck on the side of your leg while swimming lol.
Our last stop was to the top of the Sears/Willis Tower. It took forever to get up here because this is a major tourist trap. You basically wait in line for two hours then get up to a lookout box to take one picture then take another half hour to get back down lol. Probably not worth the wait.
