The United States Mint celebrates the 100th year anniversary of the last release of the Morgan Dollar. In commemoration of this event, the US Mint have issued the 2021 Morgan Dollar.
The Morgan Silver Dollar was struck for production from 1878 to 1904, and again in 1921. The San Francisco Mint, along with the Philadelphia Mint, is the only US Mint branch to have done that. The S mint mark represents the San Francisco Mint in the circulated pieces of the Morgan Silver Dollar Coins.
This coin was also struck by the San Francisco Mint and an S mint mark on the reverse of the coin. The Morgan Silver Dollar coin came with a Certificate of Authenticity. The coin is encapsulated and presented inside a black box from the United States Mint.
The obverse of 2021-S Morgan Silver Dollars was designed by George T. Morgan and shows Liberty surrounded by 13 stars. She wears a Phrygian cap with a coronet and wreath on her head.
On the reverse of 2021-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins is a heraldic eagle. The Morgan 9th-century version of the heraldic eagle was one of the few of the era on American coins to lack the US national shield. It did feature the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.
