The first issue of the new Pirate Queens Series is
Anne Bonny was one of the most notorious female pirates of her time. She was born around 1700 in Kinsale, Ireland. Her parents and she emigrated to the United States. Anne married John Bonny, and through him learned about piracy.
Anne then left John Bonny when she met pirate, John Rackham. They sailed and operated together in the Caribbean, and were later joined by another female pirate Mary Reed. In 1720, the pirate crew was captured. Rackham was executed, and Mary and Anne were imprisoned. Mary died of fever, and it is uncertain what happened to Anne.
Features the pirate ship of Anne Bonny and John Rackham with a hoisted flag from the front. Below the ship is the typical pirate sign - a skull with two crossed infantry swords. The inscription "ANNE BONNY" and the weight and fineness complete the design. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the year of issue. Source
